Overwhelmed with goals…
Trapped and can’t find your way out…
Feel like you will never accomplish anything…
Don’t have time to sort it all out….
It’s time to regroup. Oh, but “YOU DON’T HAVE TIME!” – your confused brain screams at you over and over!
This is the very time to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN and ASK for help!
STOP doing things that distract you and do not support your goals.
– accepting invitations to things that you don’t really want to go to.
– doing more than you have to in order to achieve a goal – over studying, participating in
meetings that aren’t really necessary, going out with friends to please them.
– telling yourself it will never happen.
– creating unnecessary conflict for a principle, instead of letting small things go.
All of these things take time and energy that could be better used to bring you closer to what you want. They can also urge you to make drastic decisions that are not really practical and will not help you with your goals but will definitely cause more stress.
LOOK at what really needs to be done and what you can realistically accomplish.
– focus on the most important thing you need to accomplish right now.
– pare down your commitments to only those that support your current goal and your
basic, necessary, reasonable obligations.
– one thing at a time – break down your goal into smaller, realistic achievable steps.
Budgeting is not just for money. It is important to budget your time. Using a weekly calendar to book in necessary commitments and block off time for each step to your goal can be very helpful. This can help reduce distractions and keep you engaged with your goal. You might want to keep a record of your achievements here as well.
LISTEN to your intuition and trust that you can overcome your fears.
– review the results of each step you take to ensure you are on the right track and you are
getting the results you want or better.
– be flexible and stay open to your intuition, new ideas and opportunities.
– notice what interests you and see if it can help you to reach your goal or is it just a
distraction.
When we are overwhelmed and emotionally over wrought, there is no space for us to hear our intuition. We are simply trying to fight our way to success instead of allowing our intuition to help and guide us. It can also be a form of self-sabotage. Fear of success is often just under the surface of our stalemated situation.
Ask for help – it is very difficult to find a solution on your own problems when you don’t believe there is one! You are not a failure if you are not able to do it on your own.
If you are in the middle of an attack of overwhelm, I can help you get to the bottom of how you got here and what’s driving you to stay stuck. Under it all, we will find a way to create a more realistic, practical plan that will support your goals and reduce stress.
